David Sánchez Ruano, PhD
David is an ecological design educator. For several years he has been researching and developing pedagogical methods and design tools to facilitate nature-based learning. His study incorporates the integration of concepts such as biophilia, biomimicry and resilience thinking which are helping to promote ethical behaviour change towards a symbiotic civilization. He has a background in Industrial Design (MSc UNAM Mexico, PhD UoDundee Scotland) and teaches in the area of biomimetic design, design ethics and eco-technologies at Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes, Mexico and Schumacher College in the UK. He co-founded NomadE (Nomadic Institute of Ecological Design, Arts and Education) and Biomimicry UK network. Currently he is developing ‘Ecotonos’ an alternative school that combines Design, Music and Horticulture.
